Are you ready for some Spooky Fun?!?!?


The Georgia O'Keeffe Friends of the Library is following tradition and sponsoring the annual Spooky Story and Illustration Contest.  The story contest is for any GOK student in grades 2-5 and the illustration contest is for all grades K-5.  Yes!!  We added Kinder and 1st  graders to the illustration contest this year.  Not only that, but our fabulous art teachers, Mrs. Clattenberg and Mrs. Cheney, will be helping students organize their ideas for their illustrations.  

There is a two week window for the story and illustrations entries.  Entries must follow the guidelines accompanying this message and are due Monday, Sept. 28th at 2:00 pm. 

Entries for the Illustration Contest should be dropped off at the school entryway.  Look for the Spooky Illustration and Story drop box. Entries for the Story Contest can also be emailed to  We look forward to reading and seeing students' work!!!


Three winners will be chosen from each grade level and published in the 2020 Spooky Story Book, PLUS 1st place stories will be read during our online Spooky Story Event Friday, October 30. 

Winning illustrations will also be featured during the event.


The contest and show must go on!  We are so excited!
